The following organizations have been nominated to present at our January meeting:

  • Bridgerland Literacy

  • Brightening Blooms

  • Jump the Moon

  • Stokes Nature Center

Meeting Presenters

The following organizations have been selected (by drawing out of a hat) to be voted on at our January 2019 meeting. Representatives from each charity will give a five-minute presentation to the group prior to voting. We will then select one of the three to receive $100 from each or our members.

Bridgerland Literacy.png

Bridgerland Literacy offers free tutoring in reading and writing to adult learners who are conversational in English. Volunteers are matched with a student for one-on-one tutoring in an open, safe, and confidential environment. Tutor training and teaching materials are provided at no cost. By improving literacy skills, individuals can function more efficiently and find more fulfillment in their lives.

 

Bridgerland Literacy has recently partnered with Utah State University’s Center for Persons with Disabilities to provide expanded services  to Cache Valley residents.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

NAMI relies on gifts and contributions to support our important work:

Our education programs ensure hundreds of thousands of families, individuals and educators get the support and information they need.

We advocate to shape public policy .  Our toll-free NAMI HelpLine allows us to respond personally to hundreds of thousands of requests each year, providing free information and support—a much-needed lifeline for many.

The Allen and Alice Stokes Nature Center is a non-advocacy, nonprofit nature center established in 1997. Stokes Nature Center is the official educational permittee of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and the USDA-designated Logan Canyon Children’s Forest. We are proud to serve all people of Cache Valley.
